Partner Promotions at Saffery Champness

Top 20 accountancy firm Saffery Champness has today announced the promotion of Pete Hackleton, Mike Strong and Jeremy Ellis to the partnership. The promotions underline Saffery Champness’ growing strength in the sports and entertainment industry, as well as reinforcing the firm’s commitment to the international business community, serviced nationally and through its membership of the global network Nexia International.

Managing Partner Jonathan Fox said:

“The partnership at Saffery Champness never stands still; it develops and progresses every year and this year is no different. We are delighted to promote an exceptional and very much deserving group of people to the partnership today and believe that it will reinforce our commitment to rewarding top talent and giving our clients the service they deserve.”

Pete Hackleton joined Saffery Champness from RSM Tenon as a Corporate Tax Senior Manager a year ago as part of the firm’s commitment to building a pre-eminent sports and entertainment practice. He will become a Tax Partner in the London office.

Pete Hackleton said: “The quality of the partnership here at Saffery Champness is exceptional and I am delighted to be joining it. I look forward to working with the firm to further develop our stellar sports and entertainment team over the coming years.”

Mike Strong has been with the firm since October 2004 when he joined the Bristol office as an audit manager from KPMG. Mike will become an audit partner, but will also be involved in the corporate affairs of Private Wealth and Landed Estates clients in the Bristol office.

Mike Strong commented: “I am delighted to be made partner at Saffery Champness. The firm has a reputation for excellence and I believe that the calibre of the people here is what makes it so deserved. I look forward to a successful year for both us and our clients.”

Jeremy Ellis formally joined Saffery Champness in January 2010. Jeremy becomes a partner in the Guernsey office, having played a key role in the growth of the Guernsey Audit and Tax Partnership, taking responsibility for the Guernsey Engagement Quality Control Reviews and developing his own portfolio of audit clients.

Jeremy Ellis said: “I am very happy to be made partner this year. The firm is in a great position for growth and I can’t wait to play my part in the story here in Guernsey.”
