HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) has recently provided some welcome clarification as to what is a 'just and reasonable' apportionment of finance costs, where these are incurred and used in a mixed letting business of residential and commercial property, or a residential letting and farming business.

In our latest Rural Briefing, we look at some of the examples given by HMRC and consider how this will work in practice, ahead of the 1 April 2017 restriction of finance costs.
