Moses is a partner in the Film and TV Team, providing specialist advice on accessing and maximising the UK Film, High-End TV, Animation and Video Games Tax Credits.

Over the last nine years, Moses has advised a number of major and mini major US studios, as well as several UK independent producers, advising on films ranging from Hollywood blockbusters to UK micro budget productions.

Some of the film productions Moses has advised on include: Avengers 2; Thor 2; Skyfall; Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides; The King’s Speech; Captain Philips; Into the Woods; The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 1 and 2; Maleficent; Captain America; Guardians of the Galaxy; and Exodus.

Some of the animation productions Moses has advised on include: Sarah & Duck; Postman Pat, Mike the Knight; Rastamouse; Olly the Little White Van; Okido; and Nina Needs to Go.

Following the introduction of the Video Games Tax Credit in April 2014, Moses has been advising a number of clients, ranging from very large publishers to small developers, in the video games industry on all matters relating to the tax credit to ensure they get the maximum benefit from this new incentive.

Moses is regularly invited to lecture and sit on expert panels to discuss tax incentive opportunities across all the creative sectors. He has spoken at seminars in several cities, including London, Cannes, New York, Seville, Los Angeles, Austin and Toronto.


Key experience

  • Moses contributed to the HM Revenue & Customs/British Film Institute consultation group correspondence during the design and implementation of the very successful UK Film Tax Credit, and subsequently the UK High-End TV and Animation Tax Credits,
  • Moses has advised on hundreds of tax credit claims over the years, guiding clients through the compliance process and generating cash rebates for our clients in excess of £500 million.

Interests

Moses is married with two children and lives in Kent. Family commitments notwithstanding, Moses enjoys nothing more than hacking his way around a golf course come rain or shine.
