Accounts Assistant – Peterborough
Due to the continued growth, we are looking for a talented individual to join the Peterborough office as an Accounts Assistant within our Audit and Accounts team. The successful candidate is expected to be AAT qualified or part qualified and will be responsible for the preparation of accounts for a range of clients, including trusts and charitable trusts as well as book-keeping and VAT returns for a dynamic client base.
The role
- The role is hybrid according to our flexible working policy, however, he/she/they may be required to carry out work at client premises, if necessary. He/she/they will:
- Predominantly prepare annual Trust accounts from client monies accounts and investment schedules
- Prepare annual charitable settlement accounts from client monies accounts and investment schedules
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns and the associated book-keeping for a dynamic client base
- Assist with preparation of management accounts
- Be minded to uphold the highest levels of client service and build relationships externally and internally
- Be involved in ad-hoc advisory projects, such as setting up ledgers, reporting for bank covenants and assisting client finance/family office teams

The office
The Peterborough office of Saffery Champness is located easily off the A1 with accessible public transport routes and free parking on-site. Our modern offices have been designed to provide a working space this is conducive to team collaboration and agile working.
You
The successful candidate will be an AAT qualified or part qualified accountant, with previous experience in accounts preparation.
You should be motivated, well organised, commercially minded and have a clear perception of client requirements. In addition, they will possess good interpersonal skills, demonstrate initiative and be able to provide accurate work in a timely and cost-effective manner. Furthermore, they should display a flexible, professional approach, and have the confidence and ability to establish credibility with partners and clients. A natural team player is essential, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

- A 35-hour working week with flexibility around the core hours of 10am-4pm

- 25 days annual leave. After 5 years’ service, the entitlement will be increased by 1 day
