Description

We are looking for an ambitious and pro-active Director to work in our Northern corporate tax team, based in our Harrogate/ Leeds office.

The mix of work will be varied as the client base of the corporate tax team is across a diverse range of business sectors within the local market.

A key focus of the work will be to work with the corporate tax team partners, to support further growth and development in the market and the team.

The role will be client and market facing and split between the delivery of corporate tax planning and advisory projects, compliance services and business development. Tax technical and practical experience in respect of tax aspects of owner managed business is important to help the successful delivery of structuring assignments in respect of sale, acquisition and restructuring matters.

Experience with international tax assignments and tax aspects relating to PE backed businesses would also be helpful. The role would also include the supervision/review of work undertaken by the tax team.

The Team

There are exciting times ahead for the local office with the move from Harrogate to Leeds.

The corporate tax teams in the Harrogate/ Leeds and Manchester offices work together as one CT North team to deliver corporate tax advisory and compliance services. The team, headed by 2 partners, comprises of over 20 members from director to tax assistant.

We have a great client base which provides a huge variety of tax compliance and advisory work. You will be joining a dynamic and rapidly growing team, offering the opportunity to develop new skills and accelerated career growth opportunities.

There will be flexibility of working from home as part of our Agile Working Policy.

The Office

This role will be based in our Harrogate office but will be relocating to new offices in Leeds City Centre in the summer 2024.

You

  • Preferably CTA and/ or ACA qualified and have experience in a Senior Management/ Director level position.
  • Good tax advisory experience and recent experience in working with clients and a team to oversee a corporate tax portfolio to deliver all tax related services.
  • Strong client handling, managerial skills and a good detailed up to date working knowledge of corporate taxation matters/ issues.
  • A growing network and the tenacity to continue to grow your network and help to develop and take on new opportunities.
  • Ability to be pro-active, resilient and driven; displaying a positive approach to work and have the ability to get things done.
  • A team player who can also work independently and with both more senior and junior team members.
  • Establish credibility at all levels, be commercially minded and have a clear perception of client requirements.
