Description

We are looking for an experienced, professional and enthusiastic Manager, to join our expanding department and office. Applicants must be either ACA or ACCA qualified and be able to display a commercially minded and organised approach to client work.

The role

To become part of the team providing a wide range of accounting and advisory services to our clients. We are able to offer varied and interesting work involving client contact with the people who make the decisions.

The responsibilities

An Accounts Manager in the Bristol office will have responsibility for managing a wide portfolio of clients that operate in a range of sectors, reporting directly to the Partners and Senior Managers. The position would involve review of accounts preparation work, management of a corporate portfolio as well as one-off assignments and advisory work, as required.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the accounts preparation process
  • Managing and monitoring progress of work and budgets
  • Ensuring all work is delivered on time and to a high standard
  • Supervising and coaching qualified staff and trainees
  • Liaison with tax team
  • Opportunities to work on special advisory assignments and projects
  • Involvement in management of the team’s internal objectives
  • We provide regular technical training and soft skills development to help support your development and progression.
  • Knowledge and experience of landed estates and rural businesses would be beneficial but not a prerequisite


The team

The Accounts and Trust team is a friendly and supportive team consisting of 25 people, from trainees to Director.

We offer accounting, audit and assurance, business advisory, corporate finance, tax and VAT services. We act for businesses and individuals both in the UK and internationally. Our staff work regularly and closely with their colleagues in our national offices to provide a seamless service to clients, wherever they are located.

Our Bristol office is home to 7 partners and 90 members of staff.

You

The successful applicant will be outgoing, a self-starter, resilient and driven and have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. The role will require an extremely high level of ability and commitment. The role will require some flexibility to work long hours during busy periods. Candidates should be self-motivated, display a positive approach to work and have the ability to get things done. In addition, they should possess the confidence and professionalism to establish credibility at all levels, be commercially minded and have a clear perception of client requirements and to ensure that service delivery is of the highest standard.

The successful candidate may have a general practice or accounts background. They should have experience of managing a client portfolio and have had exposure to one off special assignments and complicated technical areas. The systems used in the accounting field are Excel, CCH Accounts Production and CCH Audit Automation and candidates are expected to have excellent IT skills.
