The role
We are looking for a tax technology manager to join our growing National Tax team, supporting the tax practice throughout the firm.
The successful candidate will take a key role working with both tax and IT teams to develop new tools, improve our internal reporting capabilities and ensure that we make the most of the opportunities that new technology offers. The role would suit someone already working in tax but looking to move to a more technology-focused position.
The responsibilities
- Working with teams around the firm to develop tools and identify where technology can be applied to tax work.
- Developing and delivering training and guidance on new systems and processes.
- Working with internal stakeholders, including IT and suppliers to implement new technology solutions.
- Developing the tax intranet and knowledgebase.
- Supporting other National Tax initiatives as needed.
The team
Our National Tax team which provides policy, technical and risk management support to Saffery’s tax practice.
We are a technically minded group of individuals, who can work together to deliver our projects while also being able to work alone on our own individual tasks and workstreams. We are friendly and close-knit, based across a number of locations, and we would welcome a new member no matter where they choose to work.
You
The successful candidate will act as a key interface between tax and IT teams, so needs the ability to understand requirements from each team. They should have:
- Strong tax skills (ATT or equivalent) and a passion for technology, with the curiosity to explore the potential of new technologies to improve the way we work.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and be confident to work with individuals at all levels throughout the firm, in person and virtually.
- Excellent technology skills, including MS Excel. SharePoint and PowerApps experience would be beneficial and highly regarded.
- Previous experience designing and delivering training, and/or previous project management experience would be desirable but not essential.
- Working as part of a small team, the successful individual will need to be self-starting and able to balance priorities across multiple projects effectively.

- A 35 hour working week with a hybrid working policy with the flexibility to work from home for up to three days per week (our core hours are 10-4)
