The role
We are looking for a training manager to join our growing National Tax team, in a newly created role, supporting the tax practice throughout the firm.
The successful candidate will take a key role working with tax teams and other stakeholders to ensure that we develop and deliver a consistent, high quality learning experience to our tax practice. The role would suit someone currently in a client-facing role looking to move into a training role, as well as those with previous tax training experience.
The responsibilities
- Working with stakeholders around the tax practice and the wider firm to identify the required training.
- Creating and updating a training matrix to allow staff and partners to easily identify the right internal and external training for them.
- Designing and delivering technical and other training content both virtually and at face-to-face events such as the annual Tax Conference.
- Working with other teams, including Learning and Development and audit technical teams, to ensure that whole-firm training content is suitable for tax specialists.
- Supporting other National Tax initiatives as needed.
The team
Our National Tax team provides policy, technical and risk management support to Saffery’s tax practice.
We are a technically minded group of individuals, who can work together to deliver our projects while also being able to work alone on our own individual tasks and workstreams. We are friendly and close-knit, based across a number of locations, and we would welcome a new member no matter where they choose to work.
You
- Previous experience of preparing and delivering training, ideally both in person and virtually. Or previous experience in a tax client facing role with an interest to move into training.
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- Good tax technical skills, and the ability to distil complex concepts into clear training
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people of all levels across the business,
- Working as part of a small team, the successful individual will need to be self-starting and able to balance priorities across multiple projects effectively.

- A 35 hour working week with a hybrid working policy with the flexibility to work from home for up to three days per week (our core hours are 10-4)
