Irina is a private client tax specialist who advises HNW and UHNW individuals with worldwide business interests, global assets and offshore trust structures on a wide range of private client matters.
Her clients are high net worth individuals and their families and her particular expertise is in advising international clients, including UK residents and non-UK residents.
As a fluent Russian speaker, Irina focuses on advising CIS clients (and their family offices) on their tax affairs and is able to communicate complex UK tax matters to them. She develops strong relationships with her clients and is seen as their main point of contact.
Irina is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Key expertise
- Helping to manage CIS clients’ UK tax exposure and UK tax compliance, as well as being the clients’ main point of contact and working closely with the clients’ bankers, family offices, lawyers and trustees,
- Providing the UK tax support CIS clients require to achieve their personal and business objectives,
- Acting as the trusted adviser to CIS clients and delivering UK tax planning solutions together with Saffery’s colleagues and leading Partners,
- Advising CIS clients on their UK tax residence status, including those looking to leave the UK and cease UK residence,
- Advising CIS clients and families on the UK tax implications of relocating to the UK and steps to be taken in advance, including reviewing offshore structures,
- Advising former users of the remittance basis of taxation, including in respect of remittances of historic income and capital gains,
- Advice on setting up and administering offshore holding vehicles and trust structures,
- Project management for supporting services (such as immigration advice, legal advice and property acquisitions).
