David is a partner and a member of the firm’s Land & Rural National Practice Group. He has a wealth of experience in providing accounting and tax advisory services to landowners, families and owner-managed businesses.
He specialises in advising rural estate owners, assisting them with capital tax planning, succession, tax-efficient business structuring and general commercial advice. His work also encompasses business valuations for both tax and commercial purposes.
David is a Chartered Accountant and a member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). He is part of the firm’s internal knowledge-sharing Estates Discussion Group as well as being a member of the firm’s Valuations Forum. He is also a member of the Saffery’s Agribusiness Team.
Key experience
- Advising landowners and wealthy individuals on maximising the availability of capital tax reliefs such as APR and BPR, plus succession planning,
- Providing tax, accounting and general business advice to a range of rural, property and other commercial businesses,
- Leading the delivery of accounts and tax compliance services for family businesses, individuals and trusts,
- Providing business valuation services for tax and commercial purposes, including IHT, CGT and income tax related valuations,
- Provision of private office services and cash flow planning for wealthy families.
Interests
David has a young family which takes up much of his time outside work. His other interests include cycling, walking, music and cricket.
