Saffery has confirmed that James Sykes has been re-elected to the position of Chairman of the firm.
James’s first term as Chairman began in November 2016 and he now begins a second four year term during which time he will work closely with Managing Partner Matthew Burton on the implementation of the firm’s long term strategy and the management of its business.
James has been at Saffery since 1987, when he joined as a graduate, and, having trained at the firm, he went on to become a partner in 1997. He has sat on the firm’s Management Board, headed its Private Wealth Practice Group, and served as Deputy Chairman. James has previously been named as one of ePrivate Client’s 50 Most Influential Private Client Practitioners and is recognised by Spear’s as a top tax and trusts adviser.
Alongside his role as Chairman, James will continue to advise his client base of wealthy individuals, families, landed estates and high growth businesses.
Matthew Burton, Managing Partner at Saffery, commented:
“Since taking on the role of Managing Partner in 2018, and in our years together in the firm beforehand, I have always appreciated James’ wise counsel – and no more so than during the challenging last nine months in which time he has played a key role in the resilience of our business and our focus on supporting our people as we have all adapted to a new working environment. I am pleased that both I, and Saffery more broadly, will continue to benefit from his guidance, support and his unwavering commitment to the firm and our values. I congratulate him on his re-election.”
James Sykes, Chairman at Saffery, added:
“I’m very pleased to have been re-elected as Chairman of Saffery. I look forward to working with Matthew and the wider management team as together we build on our foundation of excellent client service and relationships, delivered and maintained by the best people, to position the firm for continued and ongoing success into the future.”
