Saffery is pleased to be promoting an August cycling initiative for its people across the UK, to promote the environmental, wellbeing and financial benefits of cycling to and for work as part of two of the firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) pillars.
Colleagues are being encouraged to get on a bike and cycle whenever possible in August, as an alternative to driving or taking public transport – either for all of part of their commute. People will be asked to complete a survey to find out how often they are currently cycling. They will then be surveyed again at the end of the campaign to see if there are any changes, and we will also be tallying the combined weekly mileage to track how many miles colleagues have collectively ridden at the end of the campaign.
Cycling can be to work – to get from home to the office or to the nearest station, or for work – to get to client meetings or networking events.
The firm is sharing health and safety resources and cycling tips to help people travel safely. A panel of devoted Saffery cyclists hosted an online Q&A session earlier this week to encourage and support colleagues in their cycling to and for work and we are looking forward to seeing the stories and pictures shared by participants regarding their cycling in August.
Elizabeth Hartless, partner in the London Private Wealth & Estates Team comments: “Cycling to or for work has multiple benefits for the individual, the firm and society and here at Safferys we are doing everything we can to encourage people to give it a go in August when the roads are quieter and the weather (hopefully!) better”.
