Saffery promotes six directors to partnership

Saffery has announced its partner promotions for 2023, with six directors from its Bristol, Bournemouth, London and Inverness offices making the step forwards.

For the second year in a row women make up the majority of those promoted. The promotions take effect from 1 April:

Casidhe Baleri trained and qualified at Saffery in Bournemouth as a Chartered Accountant and later a Chartered Tax Adviser. She is responsible for managing the office’s not-for-profit clients, providing annual compliance services as well as advising on governance and other matters. Casidhe also provides support and advice to a range of clients, from owner-managed businesses to larger corporates. She builds strong relationships with clients and seeks to meet their needs by offering practical and realistic advice.

Seb Cartwright is based in the London Corporate Finance Team, working on transaction support and business advisory engagements across a range of sectors. His role typically includes the provision of transaction support services, including buy side and sell side support and reporting accountant services to support capital markets transactions. Seb is also a valuation expert and is a member of both the firm’s national valuation group and Nexia’s global valuations group.

Hilary Clelland is based in Inverness, leading the delivery of corporation tax services to a diverse range of clients in and around the Highlands. She also supports clients across the UK with corporation tax compliance and advisory services in areas such as management buy-outs, employee ownership trusts, tax structuring and transaction support in relation to acquisitions and disposals. Hilary works with owner-managed businesses across a diverse range of sectors, including property, retail and international groups.

Sarah Donaghay leads the firm’s outsourcing service line. Based in London, she has over 25 years’ experience in providing tailored outsourcing solutions to clients and provides business advice based on the digital reporting delivered by her team. Sarah has been at the forefront of the firm’s adoption of cloud-based accounting technology, and has used this knowledge to advise clients on how best to structure their finance functions. Sarah has worked across a broad range of sectors during her career, and specialises in clients within the music, film and sports sectors, where she provides a fully outsourced finance solution for a number of high-profile clients.

Kathy Johnson is a member of the firm’s Sports & Entertainment Group, with 25 years’ experience advising some of the world’s highest profile entertainers and production companies, ensuring that they are compliant in terms of both tax and social security obligations. Based in London, her work has helped underpin the financial success of some of the biggest performance events in the world, working across almost every tax jurisdiction, for both UK tax resident and non-UK tax resident performers.

Sean Watts is a corporate tax adviser with over two decades’ experience of advising businesses and their owners on their tax affairs across a wide variety of industry sectors. Based in Bristol, Sean’s key experience includes advising on tax issues associated with acquisitions, disposals and restructuring of companies, employee incentive structures, tax aspects of debt and equity fundraisings and capital allowances. Sean has a particular interest in growing entrepreneurial businesses.
