At Saffery Champness, our name means something. Where other providers are increasingly the amalgamated result of aggressive acquisition, our 160+ year history is a testament to our fortitude.
With a century of expertise and delivering exceptional client service behind us, we first extended our expertise internationally in 1977, establishing an office in Guernsey. Our Guernsey office became one of the largest independent service providers on the island, combining our independence with professional ethos and heritage.
Our international offering expanded to Switzerland in 2005 with the opening of our Geneva office, followed by our Zurich office in 2008.
Despite our deep-rooted history, our international offices are forward-thinking and keep abreast of the progression of the industry. This has led to our Guernsey and Switzerland offices being at the forefront of the management of digital assets, including cryptocurrency.
2018 saw the establishment of our representative office in the Dubai International Financial Centre, after recognising that we could act as a gateway to connect professionals and clients to our global network.
As an independent service provider, we have the freedom to explore any avenue which will expand the depth and breadth of our client service offering. Our autonomy allows us to tailor our services to find the best solutions to meet our clients’ needs, and work with a carefully cultivated global network of specialists, without restriction.
In 2020 we launched a Cayman offering, providing our clients with access to a jurisdiction with a great infrastructure, highly qualified staff and advisers and a tried and tested legislative system.
After operating as a registered controlled subsidiary of a licensed Cayman trust company for two years, we acquired a Cayman trust company and attained a fiduciary license from the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority.
As our reach has expanded globally, as has our experience of safeguarding and protecting our clients’ wealth. Our teams are experienced in dealing with multi-jurisdictional, often complex, structures across different asset classes.
We maintain a close working relationship with our clients and their professional advisers, working in partnership, to allow us to provide a highly focused level of personal service to meet our clients’ changing needs.
