Alastair Loasby

Alastair is Director of Sustainability and ESG at Saffery. He supports organisations to turn sustainability and responsible business into clear commercial value.

With more than a decade of experience in sustainability, Alastair works with organisations at all stages of their journey, from those just getting started to those navigating complex regulatory and reporting requirements. His approach is practical and tailored, shaped by each organisation’s strategy, maturity and ambitions.

Alastair has advised a wide range of organisations across sectors, from multinational listed companies to fast-growing start-ups. His work brings together technical expertise and commercial insight, helping clients respond to emerging regulation, develop and embed sustainable business strategies, and identify new innovation and market opportunities through sustainability.

He is a recognised voice on sustainability and responsible business, regularly speaking at conferences and engaging with the media. He also acts as a trusted adviser to senior leadership teams, supporting them to embed sustainability in decision-making and day-to-day operations.

  • Developing commercial sustainability strategies, including business cases, purpose, double materiality assessments, stakeholder engagement and reporting.
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to leadership and sustainability teams as they design and embed their sustainability approach.
  • Advising on emerging sustainability trends, regulation, expectations and reporting requirements.
  • Leading sustainability training across organisations and value chains to support capability-building and new ways of working.
  • Developing and delivering new sustainable innovation approaches that create value for the business and key stakeholder groups.
  • Advising on external communication and engagement, including stakeholder engagement, partnerships and advocacy.

Interests

Alastair is married with two young sons. Outside of work, he spends as much time in nature as possible, enjoying ultra running, mountaineering, cycling and rock climbing.
