James Boyd

James is a Senior Manager in our Charities and Not-for-Profit group, based in our London office.

James has over 20 years’ experience of working in accountancy firms and has extensive experience in the provision of external audit, financial reporting and accounting and regulatory compliance services to a wide range of charities and not-for-profit clients. He places particular emphasis on proactive communication with his clients and clear agreement of mutual objectives and deliverables.

James has worked with a wide variety of clients including independent schools, hospices, grant making foundations, livery companies and theatres.

As well as his qualification as a Chartered Accountant, James has completed the ICAEW Charity Diploma and has a Masters in Charity Accounting and Financial Management.


Key experience

  • Auditing and advising a range of charity and not-for-profit entities, including consolidated groups,
  • Reviewing organisational systems and controls,
  • Advising clients on accounting issues and the content of their financial statements,
  • Advice on structuring trading activities for charities,
  • Presenting at external and internal training events and seminars.

Interests

James is married with two children and lives near Tonbridge. He is actively involved with children’s work at his church and in leading children’s weekends away. His other passion is rugby, actively supporting Ulster and Ireland.
