Jamie Cassell

Jamie joined Saffery’ Business Advisory Group in 2014, after spending the majority of his career at a top six accountancy firm.

Throughout his career, he has worked with highly skilled entrepreneurs of owner-managed businesses, as well as venture capital and private equity backed companies, international groups and AIM listed companies.

Jamie’s priority is to provide exceptional client service and ensure that he and his team deliver on this all year round. He builds close relationships with his clients and meets with them regularly to discuss commercial and strategic developments, as well as identifying and addressing key issues that will help the companies continue to grow and develop.

He has experience of dealing with a wide range of UK GAAP/US GAAP and IFRS technical issues, as well as assisting on acquisitions and disposals of businesses through transactional support services.

Jamie’s clients have come from a wide range of sectors that include technology, media and telecoms, manufacturing, retail and recruitment. A number of his audit clients have been in the technology sector, where he has helped companies grow from start-ups to strong established businesses.

Through leading the audit of a number of international groups, he has gained experience of dealing with international offices and overseas matters in countries such as USA, Germany and Czech Republic.

Jamie is head of the firm’s Recruitment Practice Group.


Key experience

  • Performing financial due diligence on the acquisition of manufacturing and technology businesses,
  • Providing technical IFRS support for an AIM listed company on a number of accountancy issues, including the treatment of zero dividend preference shares,
  • Leading a team that was providing tax structuring and VAT planning advise for a fast growing technology business,
  • Helping international companies set up subsidiaries in the UK and looking at cross border issues.

Interests

Jamie is married with two daughters, and outside of work he enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as playing and watching sports. When the time permits, he is often found hacking a ball around a golf course.
