Steve joined Saffery in January 2026 as an audit partner in the Leeds office.
He previously worked at BDO for 15 years before joining Armstrong Watson for a further three years, during which time he became head of the Manchester office.
Throughout his career Steve has developed a wealth of experience in working with a variety of companies and sectors, including both AIM and full list businesses as well as owner-managed and private equity.
Steve has experience in working with large, complex and often international group structures across a number of sectors not limited to real estate, manufacturing and retail, working with both IFRS and UK GAAP.
His priority is to develop strong client relationships and better understand each business focusing on exceptional client service.
Key experience
- Leading and delivering audits for UK and international groups in accordance with both IFRS and UK GAAP,
- Delivering statutory audits of large businesses and complex groups, with assets and turnover in excess of £200 million,
- Providing value-added statutory audits with reports to management on risk management, key controls and financial benchmarking, and
- Significant experience in delivering audit engagements within the real estate sector, including investment property, construction and serviced office, as well as the audit of complex property valuations.
Interests
Steve is married with three children. Outside of work he aims to stay active through running, cycling and playing tennis, and has recently discovered a love of climbing, having finally hung up his football boots.
