The Saffery office in Bournemouth has proudly announced its new Charity of the Year partnership with Home-Start Wessex, a local charity that provides life-changing support to families across the region.
Each year, Saffery offices across the UK vote to support a local charity, as part of the firm’s commitment to helping build sustainable futures within individual communities. Following a staff vote, the Bournemouth team selected Home-Start Wessex, a charity that works with vulnerable families to give children the best possible start in life.
To launch the partnership, Home-Start Wessex Fundraiser Darren Lewis met with Saffery staff to share the vital work the charity delivers and to inspire ideas for how the team can get involved. Plans already being discussed include raffles, pub quizzes, bake sales, and volunteering at events such as the charity’s annual Santa Train and in its soon-to-open charity shop in Christchurch, where Saffery staff hope to assist with activities such as stock-taking and painting to help get the shop up and running.
The team will also be supporting Home-Start Wessex’s 30 for 30 campaign, marking the charity’s 30th anniversary with a mission to support 30 families. Each package of support costs £960, and Saffery Bournemouth is aiming to help the charity reach this ambitious milestone.
Darren Lewis, Fundraiser at Home-Start Wessex, said,
“We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen as the Bournemouth office Charity of the Year. The support of local businesses like Saffery is vital in helping us reach more families who desperately need our help. Their commitment to fundraising and volunteering will make a real difference in achieving our 30 for 30 goal, and ultimately in giving children the best possible start in life.”
Roger Wareham, Partner and Head of Saffery Bournemouth added,
“At Saffery, we are passionate about supporting causes that make a meaningful difference in our community. Home-Start Wessex does incredible work with families who need a helping hand, and we are proud to stand alongside them this year. Our team is excited to get stuck into fundraising, volunteering, and working together to make an impact.”
