Saffery has acted for Chartered Wealth Management (CWM), a wealth management firm based in Manchester, in its recent sale to multi-disciplinary professional services firm, Progeny.
CWM provides a range of investment, advice and planning services to its client base, which comprises private investors, corporate entities, families and successful entrepreneurs. The deal will strengthen Progeny’s wealth management offering in North West England and increase their assets under management to £9 billion.
How we helped
We’ve supported CWM for almost 15 years, providing a range of accountancy and tax services, and supporting the growth of the business over this period.
On the acquisition, Mark Stanbury, Director at CWM said: “We look forward to being part of this unique business as well as the mission to transform and improve financial advice for the better, for our clients and the industry at large.
“Saffery has been our accountants and tax advisers since the inception of CWM in 2009. They have been integral in our growth journey and acted diligently and professionally throughout the transaction. It has been a pleasure to work with them over the last 15 years.”
Mike Hodges (Partner, Manchester) and Seb Cartwright (Corporate Finance Partner, London) worked closely with the shareholders of CWM throughout the transaction process. They provided efficient financial and tax sell-side advice, including financial modelling and SPA review services.
We have extensive experience of providing both sell-side and buy-side support to clients across a range of sectors. More information is available on previous transactions we have worked on.
