Welcome to the December 2019 issue of Business Update, our newsletter for business owners and directors, entrepreneurs and investors.

Our first article concerns proposals for wide-ranging reform to Companies House and the information that it collects and stores. The proposed changes are intended to increase the transparency of UK corporate entities and help combat economic crime.

Our second article is an update on new regulations that require large unquoted companies and limited liability partnerships (LLPs) to disclose their annual energy use and greenhouse gas emissions for the first time. This means many more businesses will have to calculate and report their carbon consumption.

Our third article answers some of the questions business owners have when thinking about selling their business.

Cash flow is the lifeblood of any business and our final article considers some of the cloud accounting plug-ins that businesses can use to better manage their cash flow.

As ever, I hope that you find this issue interesting and informative. Please do contact me or your usual Saffery Champness partner if you have questions on any of the topics featured here.
