Shekouba Sesay appointed as Associate Director of Compliance in Guernsey

Saffery Trust has announced the appointment of Shekouba Sesay as Associate Director of Compliance in its Guernsey office.

A fellow of the International Compliance Association – the highest grade of individual membership – and with close to 20 years of experience, Shekouba brings extensive expertise in regulatory compliance, risk management, and governance to the role.

Shekouba holds a bachelor’s degree in law and a Master of Laws degree from the University of Sussex. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Thames Valley University (now the University of West London). After completing his studies, Shekouba worked for various companies and law firms in London before moving to Guernsey and focusing on regulatory compliance within the finance industry.

Shekouba’s experience aligns with the firm’s succession planning objectives, having previously held Board and director-level positions, including Head of Financial Crime Prevention. With his compliance experience and legal training, Shekouba has an aptitude for absorbing and interpreting complex legal and regulatory concepts and communicating them with clients and colleagues alike. As such, Shekouba is committed to advising on best practice and delivering effective risk management strategies.
