Saffery’ Corporate Finance Team, led by Niraj Patel, advised on the formation of The Stowe Group, providing transaction advisory services.

Swanbourne House School and Winchester House School will join the group along with Stowe School with effect from 1 January 2021.  Saffery carried out financial due diligence on these schools prior to them joining The Stowe School Group.

Mark Greaves, Director of Finance at Stowe commented: “The Saffery team provided excellent support and reports in unprecedented circumstances – due diligence on two schools at once and during a pandemic, which meant no physical visits took place.”

Both Swanbourne House and Winchester House have a long tradition of sending pupils to Stowe. In recent years, the number of children joining Stowe from these schools has increased and the transaction enables Stowe to provide an educational pathway for 3-18 year old children.

The formation of The Stowe Group will enable the collaboration of long-standing experience from all three schools. It will benefit pupils in a variety of ways, continuing to provide a world-class education. Stowe School was established in 1923 as an independent school, set in 750 acres of historic landscape gardens in Buckinghamshire. Both Swanbourne House School and Winchester House School will retain their educational autonomy.
