Saffery Trust has appointed Simon Murphy as an Associate Director in the firm’s Guernsey office.

At Saffery Trust, Simon will work closely with the private client service teams to assist them in providing tailored wealth structuring solutions for ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals and families across a range of key jurisdictions. His role will also extend to business development in expanding the firm’s global network of specialist advisors and identifying opportunities for growth in the private client service sector.

Simon brings close to two decades of industry experience to Saffery Trust, most recently as a Client Service Director at a family office service firm, where he managed multi-jurisdictional UHNW family structures. Simon also previously worked on a multi-billion-dollar endowment structure, gaining valuable knowledge of a wide variety of asset classes.

He also has extensive experience of US and French tax filings and US and UK commercial and residential real estate portfolios, alongside project management and reporting.

Currently studying for the Chartered Institute for the Securities and Investment (CISI) Investment Advice Diploma, Simon has a keen interest in investments, with substantial technical knowledge and experience working in partnership with investment managers.

Outside of the office, Simon is the Athletics Co-Coordinator for the 2023 Islands Games to be held in Guernsey this summer and has a long sporting history in the island.

“Simon joins at an exciting time for the business, with the recent addition of our Cayman office, the growth of our Digital Asset and Cryptocurrency team and with the launch of our Green and Corporate Social Responsibility teams.

“At Saffery Trust we have an ethos of recruiting not only highly qualified team members, but professionals who also reflect the values of the firm. Both personally and professionally, Simon demonstrates enthusiasm, integrity, excellence, and teamwork and is a welcome addition to our team.”
