Office Support Administrator – Manchester

We are currently on the hunt for a self-motivated Support Administrator in the heart of Manchester City Centre to join a vibrant and fast-growing team. The role will work alongside and assist the existing Executive Assistant and Administration Assistant with all manner of ad-hoc admin duties across the office.

This is a newly developed role due to the growth that the office is currently undergoing. There is high potential to make the role your own and opportunity for you to grow and develop within the team. This is an Entry level Administration role. The successful candidate will be within commutable distance to Manchester City centre, be comfortable working in an office environment and be happy to work 10am-6pm Monday to Friday.

The role

The purpose of the role is to provide the office support team with assistance in their overall duties across the Manchester office and multiple teams.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Adding all new client details to our internal system, preparing forms and letters of engagement, and sending to the client for approval.
  • Ensuring all details that are needed for client set up are obtained and collating all new client information.
  • Opening, date stamping, scanning, saving & distributing the daily post as well as sorting post for sending, franking post, and taking to the post office.
  • Greeting guests and couriers
  • Continued support of the overall admin team, providing ad-hoc administrative services to the overall office and maintaining ongoing compliance
  • Using and keeping internal databases up to date
    Keeping client information on our advance system up to date.
  • Assisting in organising office events and hospitality.
  • Creating orders for various office supplies including stationery and catering.

This list is not exhaustive, and you may be required to provide further Ad Hoc administration assistance as required to ensure a smooth running of the overall office.

The team and the Office

The Manchester office has experienced significant growth in recent years and as a result of that growth, recently relocated to a new, purpose designed office on John Dalton Street in the City Centre. The team is comprised of a variety of departments and specialists who provide a wide range of services both locally and nationally.

The Manchester office has 4 partners and over 80 staff, and continues to grow.

The Support team is currently a team of 2. This consists of an Executive Assistant and an Administration Assistant. You will work closely with both of your colleague however have a strong office presence with the entire staff force of the wider office.


Our ideal candidate for this role will have preferably worked in a similar role previously. They will have a basic understanding of an admin role and have the drive and desire to learn and grow with the office and the business. Your previous experience will include:

  • Experience in an Administration Support role previously would be preferable however is not essential
  • Must be proficient in using the Microsoft platform with a particular focus on Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ideally the successful candidate will need to be within commutable distance to attend the office full time.
  • You will need to be motivated to work on your own initiative as well as being comfortable at working as part of a team.
  • You will be a confident person who is comfortable at dealing with all manner of internal stakeholders and external visitors.
  • Working within a professional services environment previously is desirable although not essential.


  • 35-hour working week with a shift pattern of 10am-6pm Monday to Friday.
  • Paid overtime or time off in lieu (pre-approved and only where required).
  • Eligibility for the firm’s Profit-Sharing Plan that runs from October to September each year. The scheme enables staff to share in the profits of the firm. Payment is usually c£1,000 for the full year. Paid in December.
  • Salary reviews annually in October.
  • 25 days annual leave with an additional day added after each years’ service.
  • In addition, under the flexible benefits scheme, employees are entitled to buy or sell up to five days (35 hours) holiday a year, subject to staff partner approval.
  • Six-month probationary period.
  • Life assurance cover of four times salary,

  • Contributory pension scheme (The firm will contribute 4% of salary on a matched basis with employee from their date of joining) This will increase to 5% from October 2022
