School Leavers

Entry requirements:
  • Minimum 120 UCAS points in your A Levels (or equivalent)
  • Minimum B (or 6) in GCSE Maths and English Lang

On completion of your A Levels, you can earn a full-time salary whilst working towards a professional qualification, developing valuable skills, enjoying hands-on work experience and learning from exceptional people.

If you are looking to go into audit, our most popular route is studying towards the ACA (ICAEW) or CA (ICAS) across 4-5 years. For tax students, the most popular route is ATT/CTA.

We can also offer AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians), ACCA or the joint ACA/CTA pathway. This is dependent on local requirements so please check our live vacancies.

Entry requirements:
  • 2:1 degree (expected or obtained) in any discipline.
  • Minimum 120 UCAS points in your A Levels (or equivalent)
  • Minimum B (or 6) in GCSE Maths and English Lang (or equivalent)

For graduates, we offer 3 year training contracts in order to become a fully qualified Chartered Accountant or Tax Adviser. There are a range of qualifications on offer for audit/accounts including ACA/CA and ACCA. For our tax students you can study the ATT/CTA pathway or in some instances the ACA/CTA joint pathway. Each vacancy will detail which qualification is on offer.

Summer internships

Entry requirements:
  • Penultimate year of your degree with an expected 2:1 in any discipline.
  • Minimum 120 UCAS points in your A Levels (or equivalent)
  • Minimum B (or 6) in GCSE Maths and English Language (or equivalent)

This paid scheme runs for four to six weeks every summer and provides a valuable insight, not just into the workings of a top 20 accountancy firm, but also the unique culture of Saffery Champness.

You will get hands on experience in our audit or tax teams and will also benefit from a bookkeeping course to introduce you to the basic principles of accounting. Your performance will be reviewed by your mentor and you will receive regular feedback throughout your internship. If you enjoy your time with us and impress the team, this can turn into an immediate job offer for a training contract post-University.
