Pleased to meet you

Rachel Bromiley

I’m Rachel, a Tax Manager in Manchester

The tax team is relatively small and it’s nice to be part of a closely knit core team, but I also get the opportunity to work with lots of people whether that’s clients, other teams in Manchester or members of tax teams in other offices.

Even though I’ve now become more specialised, I still find there is a lot of variety in my role, both due to the advisory element and the wide variety of clients at Saffery.

At Saffery, the partners want everyone to enjoy their roles and reach their full potential, so if there’s a specific area you’d like to get more experience in, this can be raised with them and they’ll try to make it happen.

Harry Kendall

I’m Harry, a Senior Audit Manager in Edinburgh

I am a senior manager in Edinburgh BAG focusing on audits of corporate entities, those in the not-for-profit sector and landed estates – quite a variety! A large proportion of my portfolio operate in the real estate sector.

I’m responsible for the delivery of audits within my portfolio, and the development of the wider team on each assignment. It’s a very rewarding role which has provided me with a variety of experiences and exposure to individuals that I never thought would be possible.

Saffery has a modern outlook and approach where partners support you in your own ambitions and ensure conditions are in place for you to flourish and develop. Saffery as a firm, and my colleagues within, are incredibly supportive and help each other to deliver to the best of our abilities.

Amelia Palmer

I’m Amelia, head of the audit team in Bournemouth

My career journey started at Saffery in 2017 when I joined the accounts team as a school leaver. While completing my ACA qualification, I realised that I would prefer to pursue a career in audit and I was fully supported by the partners in making the switch. I have since progressed to look after a full portfolio of clients and oversee the audit team in Bournemouth, which I particularly enjoy.

I am passionate about reducing barriers into the profession and making a career in accountancy more accessible to people from all socioeconomic backgrounds and have been fortunate to get involved with early careers recruitment for our office and more widely by co-chairing the firm’s Social Mobility Network. Investment in these areas demonstrates the firm’s commitment to making Saffery a welcoming place to work.

Louis Weight

I’m Louis, a Trainee Chartered Accountant in London

After graduating, I was searching for a firm that offered ACA training contracts and provided financial services to a varied client base in the film and television industry. From advising Hollywood blockbusters to small art house titles, Saffery were the clear choice, not only because of their exciting client portfolio but also their commitment to supporting employee learning and development. At Saffery, they encourage ambition and tailor support to help you reach your full potential. If you’re committed and driven, the career progression opportunities at Saffery are excellent.

Students pursuing accountancy often feel pressured to limit their applications to Big 4 firms. While large firms are a good option for some, they don’t suit everyone. In my experience, I’ve always felt valued as an individual at Saffery, and prefer their personal approach to my professional development.

Jemima Scrivens

I’m Jemima, an Audit Senior in London

I have recently qualified, after joining Saffery as an entry level trainee. I find myself immersed in a dynamic landscape, with a wide portfolio of clients, in a broad range of industries and regulatory frameworks. I really enjoy interacting closely with clients, focusing on building relationships and collaborating internally with my team and my clients.

Saffery prides itself on our core values. So, no matter your background, if you possess integrity, collegiality, and a lot of enthusiasm you’ll be an asset to any team. Outside of audit work, Saffery has given me the opportunity to involve myself in CSR, recognising the importance of how Saffery as a business contributes to society.
