Wendy Andrews

Wendy is a Director in the VAT Advisory Team and advises clients on issues including charity/not for profit VAT, international supply chain issues and land and property transactions and developments.

Wendy advises charities and not for profits, including Academies and Multi Academy Trusts on VAT recovery methods, VAT liability of income and property transactions. She also advises UK based and inbound companies on international supply chain issues, especially relating to Brexit. In addition, she has worked with a range of businesses involved in land and property sales and purchases and complex developments, advising them on complex VAT issues.

Wendy is a member of the Indirect Tax Committee of the Chartered Institute of Tax and has presented on VAT at a wide range of conferences and webinars.


Key experience

  • Advising US based clients on UK VAT compliance and changes to their supply chain following the UK’s exit from the EU in 2021,
  • Advising a wide range of UK online retailers on the implications of the UK’s exit from the EU for their sales to EU consumers,
  • Carrying out systems reviews to assess client’s compliance with the new HMRC requirements for full digital links within VAT accounting systems in accordance with Making Tax Digital for VAT,
  • Helping charity and other partly exempt clients to develop partial exemption special methods to optimise their VAT recovery.

Interests

Wendy lives in Worcestershire and in her spare time she researches family history and enjoys the theatre and walking in the countryside.
